  1. Mexican Jumping Beans What are Mexican Jumping Beans? What makes them jump? Are they Alive?

  2. Do Mexican Jumping Beans Really come from mexico? YES! They grow in the desert and areas of Mexico that are hot and dry.

  3. Are mexican jumping beans alive? Yes they are alive. The larvae will live in the bean for about 3 months and come out as a moth.

  4. Why do mexican jumping beans jump? Jumping beans tend to jump more when they are warmed up. In fact, the heat of your palm is enough to start that larva wiggling. It’s quite possible that they jump in order to get their out of the hot desert sun–and into a shadow perhaps. After all, these larvae stay inside the seed pods for months, waiting to change into adult moths. They may jump to avoid being roasted!

  5. What do the moths look like?
