  2. Reasons For The Fall of The Roman Empire

  3. Decline in Morals and Values Rates of crimes and violence skyrocketed. There was heavy drinking and the leaders of the empire were killing people. Constant gladiator battles at the Coliseum influenced violence amongst the youth. This led to the kids having no discrimination between right and wrong.

  4. Political Corruption The politicians of the Roman Empire were very corrupt. The senators had emperors killed and wealthy political figures wasted money on extravagant things. There was no efficient way of electing a new leader. The throne was sold to the highest bidder. The situation got to the point where the army strangled the new emperor in 186 A.D.

  5. Unemployment Slaves took up many of the jobs in Rome. This left a little amount of jobs for the citizens of Rome. Wealthy citizens owned farms and had slaves work the land thus producing crops at a lower cost. Farms with paid citizens could not compete with the lower prices of the other farms with slaves as a workforce.
