  2. MISSION The mission of the Future Leaders of Indiana (FLI) Council is to further the professional development of its membership through education, mentorship and leadership opportunities while continuing to grow and develop the Indiana Motor Truck Association membership.

  3. 2010 IMTA Chairman Vision “GENISIS” Education Recruitment of FLI members Succession planning New ideas Fresh energy Leadership Personal/professional development Public relations Ensure that council quickly becomes a necessity

  4. *Objectives • Utilize resources and talent available within IMTA • Facilitate increased activity and participation in the IMTA • Facilitate a perception change of the IMTA to increase marketability to potential members • Protect and defend the honor, integrity and importance of the IMTA * Original objectives

  5. STRUCTURE Follows the IMTA Code of Bylaws Council Guiding Principles (sop) Chairman, Vice Chairman & Secretary/Treasurer One year term, elected in the fall prior to IMTA Annual Convention One vote per FLI member Officer positions may not be filled by more than one representative from each company Chairman is a member of the IMTA Executive Committee Chairman may initiate/approve subcommittees as appropriate Logo Committee (one time committee), Education Committee (ongoing) IMTA staff is a member and serves as a liaison between the IMTA and FLI Council

  6. MEETINGS Held at least four times per year May combine with other IMTA events in the interest of effective time management Includes business meeting as well as educational topic(s) Social events are usually a part of the meetings

  8. March (meeting) 2013 Bankers Life Fieldhouse FLI Business Meeting Presenter Topics: Public Affairs 101, Public Relations 101 IMTA update Dinner / networking Pacers game

  9. Oct 2013 – IMTA Annual Convention 2010 & 2011 – Reception only. Not sponsored. 2012 & 2013 – Leadership panel luncheon. Sponsored

  10. Membership • Qualifications: • Representative of IMTA member company • Nominated by their organization • Nomination form filled out and sent to representative of FLI Council or IMTA with a copy to the FLI Chairman. • Reviewed and accepted or declined (with feedback) by FLI officers • Professionals displaying leadership skills with a motivation to grow those skills while working in the trucking industry or with its allied affiliates. 2010 – 17 2011 - 23 2012 - 23 2013 – 18 Dues - $100/year No active member recruitment drive(s) or marketing of council

EVOLUTION • Grow membership • “Graduation” • Mentorship program • More structured accountability to directly impact the image of trucking (social media- you tube, Facebook, twitter) • Create synergies with newly created ATA’s program “LEAD ATA” • Review and update objectives • Create marketing material
