With HELPFUL in-class discussions (analyzing Wall-e) my essay understanding of an analysis was much more clear. After talking during in-class peer revisions I learned many different strong organizational structures, (i.e. time) With OWL (online MLA source) I figured out how to correctly cite, and format a MLA paper. Reflections in my WritingBeforeAfter • Early on in the semester I had trouble analyzing in my writing, I mainly summarized. • Organization was a major problem in my 2nd essay. • MLA? I didn't even use on my first essay, let alone properly use it. • Gathering complete ideas and connecting them to my thesis appropriately was a struggle until my Wall-e analysis.
Blogging has became something I enjoy doing. I enjoy the simplicity of blogs; no pen or paper, just start typing, which I didn't before. Writing about any topic discussed in-class, left me with many options and suppressed ideas I was able to openly address as time went on. Reflections on WordPressBefore After • Blogging was new to me, so I was illiterate at it. • Posting weekly posts wasn't the problem marking the category was. • In my blogs, because there was a 400 word minimum, I sometimes ended to soon, and other times was to repetitive trying to meet exactly 400 words.
Lessons Learned.. • Girls, go natural; you save money and the environment. (hair spray, hair color etc) • Cups can be reused. • Plastic washable cups are beneficial as well. • Cars can be bought fuel efficient. • Instead of driving, ride a bike.
Putting it all Together! In my writing I've progressed: • Sentence structure • Organization • Adding my own experiences into my essays (narrative, analytical, and persuasive pieces) • Learned to better analyze readings and movies In my life I've progressed: • Reducing gas consumption • Stopped doing what was convenient for me; fountain drink cups at QT • Got rid of my bleached hair, and went back natural • Spread AWARENESS to those around me
How Wall-e Influenced Me • Reduced my trash (got rid of plastic cups, forks; use dishes) • Bought a re-useable cup • Changed my thought of bigger is better • Helped me notice how precious the environment is to myself, and those around me
