  2. Facts about the BlobFish • Blobfish is considered the ugliest fish in the sea. • Blobfish can grow up to 12 inches in length • Inhabiting the deep seas off the costs of mainland Australia & Tasmania. • Rarely seen by humans • Lives at depths between 2,000 – 3,900 ft. • Flesh of blobfish is primarily a gelatinous mass with a density slightly less than water. • Fish can float above the sea floor without expending energy on swimming. • Blobfish eats invertebrates (example: crabs and sea pens) • Blobfish is facing extinction due to deep-sea fishing.

  3. The Campaign • Purpose • We want to educate individuals on the dying breed of the blobfish. We want these individuals to understand the complex details and facts regarding this endangered creature, and take precautionary measures when deep sea fishing to preserve the few blobfish remaining. • Target Audience • We are targeting all individuals in an effort to save the blobfish, but more specifically, deep sea fishermen should be aware of their ill affect on this endangered creature.

  4. The Death of the Blobfish • Gelatinous body • Shrivel up minutes after being out of the water • Deep Sea Fishing • Increased interest in deep sea fishing • Bottom Trawling • Most destructive type of fishing • Most active deep sea trawling • Restricted to these waters • Cant adapt to other waters

  5. This fish may not be the cutest, which is why they need your help because if they don’t have anyone to stand up for them then they will die. This would be terrible! They are no threat to anyone, so there is no reason to let them die. • How would you feel if you were the blob fish and no one wanted to save you?  We need your help!

  6. Action Plan • Social Networking • Twitter • @BlobFish2 • Facebook • Save the blobfish campaign • Website • http://saveblobfish.weebly.com/
