  • Purpose of the Meetings:

    • To inform the local council members about the new

    • LIP structure

    • To collect and integrate feedback on processes for and details of the new structure

Twlip launch june 27 th 2012

  • Approx. 80 attendees

  • Topic Groups met for the first time

  • Local work of each of the 4 former LIPs pertaining to the respective topic groups was summarized and shared

  • Regional council members were selected considering the following criteria:

    • Balance of large and small organizations

    • Representation from ethno-specific organizations

    • Newcomer representation

    • Balance of representation from 4 neighbourhoods

    • Diversity within and across sectors

    • Representation from organizations serving youth and seniors

TWLIP Launch - June 27th, 2012

Moving forward

  • 3 of the 4 former LIPS have decided to continue to meet as local councils (Black Creek, North Etobicoke and York-South Weston)

  • Topic groups will decide which local initiatives are feasible for uptake at a regional level

  • Next topic group meetings are scheduled in the next couple of months
