  4. Origin • November 1997:A huge collection of stolen property is on public display as part of Operation Bumblebee.More than 20,000 items are being exhibited at Epsom racecourse in Surrey. The haul includes paintings, jewellery and silverware recovered in surprise police raids.BBC

Financial Investigation Units • Bumblebee Auctions is also now the preferred method for Sussex Police's Financial Investigation Unit to dispose of cars obtained under Confiscation Orders in asset recovery through the Proceeds of Crime Act. • Asset recovery through the Proceeds of Crime Act remains one of the Government’s key strategic criminal justice objectives and challenging rising targets continue to be set. For the current year, Sussex has been set a confiscation order volume target of 95 and a value target of £2.167m. This represents increases of 102% and 69% respectively over last year’s targets.

  14. Restrictions • Images must be jpg or gif • Maximum dimension 300x300 pixels • Maximum file size 32Kb

  15. Choice of Camera As the final image is fairly small any Digital Camera can be used, however for best results you should check that the camera has Macro mode support for close ups. Optical zoom is also useful for framing the shot.

  16. Getting Pictures onto PC • The standard way is via the cable provided • Use a Card Reader, acts like a USB flash drive and is faster than the cable • Some camreas are Wifi or Bluetooth enabled.

  17. Nikon Coolpix P2 • Wifi Enabled • Will transfer pictures directly from the camera to a folder on the PC as they are taken. • 3.5 optical zoom

  18. Web Cam • Not a replacement for a digital but useful for close up • Directly captured to PC • Ensure it can be focused

  20. Hints • Try to use natural light where possible • Avoid use of flash • For close up use a recognizable object or ruler to give a scale • A high contrast object will help the camera auto focus
