CREATING A PAPER MOSAIC 1. Lightly draw a design on your canvas but do not shade it or put a lot of details in it. The objective is simply to create an outline for the image you will be creating. 2. Get some magazines and tear our any coloured pictures. Further tear the pictures into smaller sections separating them into coloured piles. 3. In accordance with your original design, glue your coloured pieces of paper over the sketch you just made, in there ‘colour-appropriate’ sections. Leave a small gap between each piece for a tiled effect, or place them close together or overlapping for a different look. • You may like to place a black stripped boarder around your key object to ‘bring it to the front’. • Let it dry. • You may like to spray lacquer the dry finished copy to stop paper from peeling up.
