  3. Mandates of Lee v. Macon • Ongoing awareness and professional development • Ongoing monitoring of all activities • Redefined eligibility criteria of certain special education programs

  4. What We Need From You • To complete training: • 8-16 hours • Building principals will coordinate and schedule awareness trainings • There will be online sessions made available • All paperwork will be sent to the Special Education Office-from there to PD

  6. Who Has an IEP? • Any student who meets eligibility requirements to receive specialized instruction under IDEIA’s guidelines

  7. Who Should See The IEP? • Any educational professional directly responsible for providing educational services to the benefit of the child • General education teacher • Instructional support • Nurse (if there is a medical component) • Special education teacher

ACCESS TO IEP DOCUMENTATION As Required by 34 CFR §300.342(b)(2)(3) The following school personnel have access to the IEP and have been informed of their responsibility in implementing the IEP, and of the specific accommodations, modifications, and supports that must be provided for (student's name) for the school year.
