  2. I can collaborate with my peers to build background knowledge of Unit 2. ESSENTIAL QUESTION • What can we learn about ourselves from studying sports and athletes? PERFORMANCE TASK • “Sports performance has just as much to do with mental strength and agility as physical prowess.” • Develop or refute this claim in an argumentative essay.

I can collaborate with my peers to build background knowledge of Unit 2. • We are going to watch a short video clip, after which you will participate in the THINK, WRITE, PAIR, SHARE routine. • You will have 5 minutes to write a reflection on the necessity of mental and physical ability in sports based on the video, class discussion, or your own experiences. • After that, you will have 5-8 minutes to share your responses with a neighbor.
