Meet Joe Traveler Bluetooth headset • At home, Joe has all the latest toys • Digital Satellite TV / Tivo • High Speed Internet w/ IP Telephone • Home Theater with Surround Sound • Xbox 360 / Playstation / Nintendo • On the road, Joe is always connected, entertained, informed • Laptop • Mobile Phone • MP3 Player • PDA • Video Games What happens when Joe gets on an airplane? Mobile Phone USB Stick MP3 Player Laptop PDA Dual Time Zone Watch

  4. Joe’s Last Minute Trip • Needs to be in Tokyo tomorrow! • Books his airline tickets online • Downloads his frequent flyer preferences from airline web site to USB thumb drive • Grabs all his mobile toys and heads for the airport

  5. Joe at the Airport • Checks In & Upgrades to Business Class using Miles • Calls Family • Purchases Change of Clothes • Hustles Through Security to the Departure Gate Just in Time

  6. Joe Boards His Flight • Inserts USB Thumb Drive into his seat • In-seat Video Monitor displays “Welcome Aboard Joe Traveler. Would you like your Diet Coke at this time, or something else?” • “Ms. FliesAlot will be serving you on today’s flight, and will bring your beverage shortly.” • Joe sets his watch to current local time in Tokyo based on information on his Video Monitor

After Take-off Joe Gets Connected • Plugs laptop into In-Seat Power System to make sure it is fully charged • Logs onto high-speed internet service, downloads latest power point & makes last minute changes • Chats (text) with his boss seated in Economy class regarding the meeting plans • Makes hotel reservation in Tokyo • Emails completed presentation to hotel for printing

Joe is Entertained • Watches one of the latest blockbuster movies from the vast library available • He fast forwards through the scary bits • Occasionally checks flight progress with information overlaid on his monitor • Listens to his custom audio play list he created on his previous flight, saved to USB thumb drive

Joe Eats & Sleeps • Views dinner selection options, chooses pasta, Italian dressing on his salad, and white wine to be served in 30 minutes • Ms. FliesAlot serves the delicious meal right on time • Selects Do Not Disturb on his Video Monitor, with a request for Wake Up Call (with a cup of coffee) • Puts on eyeshades and headphones with noise cancellation to drown out cabin noise

Joe Gets Updated • Joe awakens at his requested wake up time to the sight of Ms. FliesAlot serving his coffee • Too comfortable to get out his laptop, he does the following from his in-seat video monitor: • Watches live television news • Checks scores and stats of last night’s games • Checks email • Checks status of his eBay auctions • Gets latest weather for Tokyo – it’s raining! • Sends text message to his son’s cell phone • Remember to set out the trash cans!

Joe Prepares for Arrival • Checks arrival gate & time (10 min. early!) • Dynamic Terminal Chart • Brushes up on some basic phrases in Japanese (Otearaiwa doku desuka?) • Gets help on filling out his immigration form • Checks train schedules into town • Completes a survey indicating how wonderful all the in-flight services were

  15. Joe in Tokyo • Quickly gets through immigration on his way to the train station • It’s raining – umbrella will come in handy • Hotel has room ready, with presentation printed in color • Dinner at nearby restaurant with client is a hit – especially the karaoke!
