  4. WHERE Did It Happen? • It happened in Boston where the Colonist lived. • At the Boston Harbor where the ships were anchored. • On the three ships where the chest of tea was at. MAIN MENU

WHY Did It Happen? • What King George did • There was an act called by King George III and it was called the Townshend act. • There was a French and Indian War bill so King George III passed a tax law. • What the Colonist did when the acts and taxes were passed • The Colonist protested when King George III passed the act. • The Colonist dumped the tea so the didn’t have pay taxes.   6. WHEN Did It Happen? PUT PICTURE HERE • At midnight when no one was around. • It happened after the Boston Massacre. • It happened Dec. 16, 1773. MAIN MENU

WHAT Happened? • Things that the Colonist did with the tea • The Colonist and The Sons of Liberty dumped the tea in the river. • The Colonist didn’t want the British to unload the tea in Boston. • The taxes and act King George III passed • When the British found the tea in the river, so King George III passed the Coercive act. • King George III passed a tax on tea and the Colonist were angry.   8. OTHER Information • 342 chest of tea were thrown overboard. • After the Colonist were done dumping, the Colonist were surrounded by armed British ships. • The chest of tea thrown overboard were exposed floating above water. • 50 members of The Sons of Liberty were involved. MAIN MENU
