  2. ROLE OF THE PRESIDENT/CHAIRPERSON In the eyes of the members, the success of the club is the President’s responsibility. As a Club President, one must be prepared to devote a lot of time to the club. It is the duty of the President to stimulate the interest and activity of both the Board and members on all occasions. The President is responsible for creating an image and conducting all the affairs of the club in a judicious manner.

  3. The Chairperson’s duties • Chair Committee Meetings. • Lead the club by example. • Have a good understanding of the clubs & Leagues constitution, policies and rules. • Communicate all correspondence. • Represent the club at League meetings and functions. • Act as a signatory for the club.

  4. The Chairperson’s duties • Ensure a succession/recruitment plan is in place. • Be the first point of contact for the club. • Ensure relevant strategic and business plans are developed and implemented in order to achieve the club’s goals. • Assist in partnerships with sponsors, funding agencies, local and state government, shared facilities groups and organisations.

  5. ATTRIBUTES OF A CHAIRPERSON • LEADERSHIP QUALITIES. • GOOD COMMUNICATOR. • ABILITY TO DELEGATE RESPONSIBILITIES. • UNBIASED AND IMPARTIAL. • ABILITY TO MAKE DECISIONS. • ABILITY TO MOTIVATE & CREATE A POSITIVE ENVIRONMENT. • KNOWS THE RULES AND POLICIES.
