  1. The Source – A Healing Retreat in Cusco, Peru

  2. Welcome to The Source, a luxury spiritual healing center and retreat destination nestled between a breathtaking 100-foot waterfall, a river canyon, and two spectacular mountains. We are just below the clouds at 10,000 feet in the heart of the Sacred Valley and just a short distance from many famous Incan ruins, including Machu Picchu. The property is beautifully landscaped and surrounded by fragrant eucalyptus groves with an abundance of fruit trees on the grounds. When you drift off to sleep in such peaceful surroundings  and awaken to sounds of a waterfall, you’ll know you’ve come to a place where nature can heal both body and mind. Ayahuasca & Other Natural Medicines The two primary natural medicines that we work with at our retreats, are Ayahuasca and Huachuma (San Pedro). In addition, we also work with Tobacco, Coca, Willka and Kambo/Sapo.

  3. Ayahuasca is a medicinal tea with a history of use dating back over 2,500 years. The two main ingredients are Ayahuasca vine (Banisteriopsiscaapi) and Chacruna (Psychotriaviridis). Both are found in the tropical regions of South America. The Ayahuasca vine acts as a MAOI while the Chacruna leaves provide a high concentration of DMT. These two plants mixed together are what we typically call Ayahuasca, a powerful blend which can bring about visions, energetic sensations, purging effects, emotional release and much more. Ayahuasca use in Peru is completely legal and is both safe and extremely effective, leaving no lasting negative effects on any biological system. Numerous studies have been done by independent researchers which verify these findings. Huachuma (San Pedro) Huachuma (San Pedro) cactus has perhaps the longest history of use of any plant medicines in South America. Its ceremonial use dates back almost 3,500 years and its traditions continue today. The cactus contains a number of alkaloids, including Mescaline. Huachuma is relatively gentle, can produce a deep sense of calm, and can create a very powerful connection to one’s surroundings, which may induce visions. Ceremonies are conducted during the daytime and we often use this medicine in combination with a traditional Andean sweat lodge ceremony to purify the body as well.

  4. Kambo (Sapo)This medicine comes from the venom of the Giant Monkey Frog (Phyllomedusa bicolor) that is naive to the northwest Amazonian rainforest. The secretion is harvested without harming the frog and left to dry into a sticky resin. The venom is applied to the skin after very small burn marks are made with the red hot tip of a thin dowel.  The top layer of burnt skin is gently removed and a small amount of the venom is placed on the open burn and activated with water, which allows it to move directly into the lymphatic system and have almost immediate effect. Kambo is known as an ‘ordeal’ medicine, as the effects are very physical and can be intense, including racing heartbeat, swelling, sweating and purging. While this may seem intimidating, Kambo is very safe and complimentary to the practice of Ayahuasca. Many people report feeling rejuvenated, refreshed and energized immediately following a session of Kambo.
