  1. Heather Cheek (336) 625-6226 hcheek@asheboro.k12.nc.us Ms. Cheek’s News Sept.22 – Sept 26 Message from Ms. Cheek I will begin sending home a reading log this week your child’s red folder. This is a district initiative and something that all schools in the district will be filling out weekly. The third grade team has made an effort to make this reading log a learning tool for your child. At the top you will see questions that your child will pick to answer nightly. These question are questions that your child will be exposed to during testing. My hope is that the exposure to questions will help them when they are tested later in the year. Reading logs are due the following Monday. This means students can miss days during the week, and still read on the weekend to get in their 5 days. If you have any questions about this or anything else please feel free to contact me. Thank you for all you do Reminders: • If your child is involved in any extracurricular activities (sports, music recitals…) please let me know. I would love to possibly attend and surprise them • I have a snack break daily in my class. Make sure your child is bringing a snack if they would like something during this time. • We will be going on a field trip to Mount Shepherd on September 24th. Please read the letter that was sent home in the Monday folder that explains what we will be doing on the trip and what your child should wear.
