Using AES Developed Software, AES Certified Service Center or AESDirect, USPPI/US Agent (Filer) transmits commodity (SED) shipment information including the booking number for vessel shipments
Filer delivers cargo and exemption statement to carrier
Once AES accepts the shipment, a confirmation number is assigned
Data are processed for validity against edit tables and U.S. Agency requirement files
AES rejects the shipment if certain information is invalid or incomplete. These rejections result in fatal errors, and must be corrected before cargo is exported. AES generates warning messages that will not reject the shipment, but must be corrected within four days.
Confirmation Number = ITN
No SED AES XTN
Filer transmits ID Number and Shipment Reference Number = XTN.

AESDirect sends accepted transmissions to AES
Enables Internet application developers to allow their clients to pass data to AESDirect from their applications (enabled applications) that collect data for other export/trade purposes
Eliminates double entry of information
