There is a BBC film on Clickview which you could watch, (Science/Chemistry/Pompeii) and I have just finished reading a really good book… Pompeii by Richard Harris, now available in the school library. Well worth a look.

  15. Sorrento • The little town of Sorrento is bustling and lively and the people are very friendly and welcoming. • It has lots of little restaurants and cafes • Many tempting ice cream shops with literally dozens of new flavours to try! • It is a harbour and fishing port with ferries to Capri, and the circumvesuviana railway stops here • Everything is within walking distance and we have boundaries beyond which the girls are NOT to venture!

  16. Shopping …… With it’s bustling Piazzas and little cobbled streets crammed full of restaurants, cafes and of course shops, Sorrento is full of families and has a wonderful atmosphere.

  31. Money Each girl will be given 30 Euros per day for food and drinks. Please tell them to make sure they eat! The only other money the girls will need will be if any of them might want to go shopping……? The area is famous for Lemon products and of course pasta etc, and there are lots of lovely souvenir shops to browse around. We have plenty of time to look around before dinner each day. We cannot be responsible for personal spending money so….. Please make sure your daughter has a bag that closes properly Tell her to keep her money secure Hotel has a safe

  32. What to pack Everyone has been given a kit list. Please read it BEFORE your daughter starts packing. Make sure you have all the essentials well in advance. The really important items are in bold. Own Medication? There will be no Clubbing! If we think anyone does not look respectable they will be asked to change!

Must roam. TURN OFF MOBILE DATA….. This can be very expensive. Check with your mobile supplier in advance. There is a computer with internet access at the hotel, which anyone can use FOC We have asked the girls to talk to us first if they have any complaints rather that just phone you. 36. And finally…. The school has requested that we produce a record of the trip for future publications and we have asked the students to provide us with at least ONE memorable photo. Please encourage your daughter to think about this and about how she would like to remember this trip. We will also be giving the girls each an activities book to fill in which will hopefully be interesting to look back on once the trip is over. Thank you for coming this evening.
