  4. Orientation toward impacts Management for development resultsdescribes the entire process which an organisation uses to ensure that its processes, procedures, products and services are oriented towards impacts. 5. Inputs are financial, human and material resources which are necessary for the implementation of a development intervention. Activities is the entirety of all actions which are necessary to produce the intended consequences out of the resources, or create certain products. Outputs are the products, goods, and outputs produced through the development intervention. Results chain (1) → Activities → Outputs Inputs

  6. Outcome describes the probable or achieved short and middle term results (project goal) of a development intervention. Impact are the positive or negative, most commonly indirect long term consequences of a development intervention, which may be intended or unintended, desired or undesired. Results chain (2) → Activities → Outputs → Outcome → Impact Inputs

  7. Farmers are trained in the organic cultivation of crops; they use their knowledge to lower their expenditure and increase their production; thereby they can sell their produced excess on the local market; what also leads to an increase in their real income; The increased real income is used for an improved health care and education,… …at the end of a very long chain the last link is poverty reduction. Results chain Example for a results chain
