  2. A • A is for Auto Mechanic. My Uncle Shawn is an Auto Mechanic for Toyota. He makes sure cars are safe for the road.

  3. B • B is for Bailiff. My cousin’s friend Jimmy is a Bailiff in the courtroom. His job is to make sure no one causes any trouble.

  4. C • C is for Coal Miner. My Dadaw is a retired coal miner. He worked very hard underground for 30 years.

  5. D • D is for Doctor. Dr. Wells is my doctor. She keeps me healthy.

  6. E • E is for Electrician. My Dadaw was an electrician in the mines for 20 years. He made sure all the equipment ran smoothly.

  7. F • F is for Farmer. My neighbor Gary is a farmer. He grows corn and hay for his cows.

  8. G • G is for Glazier. This is my daddy. He is a glazier for Cardinal Glass. He puts windows in all kinds of buildings.

  9. H • H is for Homemaker. My Momaw is a homemaker. She works very hard in her home cooking and cleaning for her family and company.

  10. I • I is for Insurance Advisor. My Uncle Hans is an Insurance Advisor for Nationwide. His job is to help people choose the right insurance.

  11. J • J is for Janitors. These are the janitors at my school. They keep the school clean.

  12. K K is for Kindergarten Teacher. Ms. Chapman was my kindergarten teacher. She taught me many things.

  13. L • L is for Logger. This is Rocky. I met him when he logged across the creek from my house. He cuts trees to take to the sawmill.

  14. M • M is for Mailman. My mailman makes sure we get our mail on time.

  15. N • N is for Nurse. My Aunt Emily is a nurse. She helps people feel better.

  16. O • O is for Opry Singer. Mr. Whited is a teacher at my school. One of his hobbies is singing with the Kentucky Opry.

  17. P • P is for Principal. Mr. Birchfield is my principal. Every morning he greets the students with a smile.

  18. Q • Q is for Quilt maker. My grandmother, I call her WoWo, is a quilt maker. She makes quilts for her family and friends.

  19. R • R is for Receptionist. My cousin Denise is a receptionist in a medical building. She makes sure people get to see their doctor.

  20. S • S is for Social Worker. My cousin Jr. is a social worker. He comes to my school to help kids with their problems.

  21. T • T is for Teacher. This is my mommy. She is a third grade teacher at my school. One day I will be in her class.

  22. U • U is for Undertaker. Joe is my cousin and he is an undertaker. An undertaker’s job is to take care of a loved one that has passed away.

  23. V • V is for Veterinarian. Dr. Collins is a veterinarian. He takes care of my sick goats.

  24. W • W is for Waitress. This is my cousin Nickie. Nickie works as a waitress in her dad’s restaurant. She makes sure the customers are happy.

  25. X • X is for X-Ray Tech. This is my aunt’s brother James. He takes pictures of people’s bones. Then, he sends the pictures to the doctor to see if the bones are broken.

  26. Y • Y is for Yoga Instructor. My Grammy Gretchen goes to yoga, every week, at the Senior‘s Center to stay fit.

  27. Z • Z is for Zookeeper. Every year, my family goes to the Columbus Zoo to see the Jack Hanna Show. He brings out animals and tells us about them.

  28. About the Author • Dalton Maynard is 6 years old. Dalton enjoys being outside. He loves to fish, hunt, and farm. He wants to be a farmer when he grows up. When creating this book, Dalton took all but three of the pictures.
