Where are we now? • Many of NSI in EU are disseminating statistics regularly mainly on aggregated statistical units level only • Producing gridded statistics : • NSI-s using registers updating gridded statistics yearly bases • NSI – s with traditional/combined methods censuses updating gridded statistics once per 10 years • Downscaling gridded statistics from LAU or other units (not disseminated for the public) • Using Web Mapping • NSI´s who only disseminate thematic mapping LAU or other units • Disseminating with using Google Earth (LAU or other units) • Gridded statistics with spatial queries • Quite few of NSI are conducting spatial analyses for creating new knowledge ( neighborhood clustering, delineation of statistical units, accessibility of recreational areas etc)
