VeerappaMoily ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಕಾನೂನು ಸಚಿವ ಎಂ ವೀರಪ್ಪ ಮೊಯಿಲಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಜ್ಞಾನಪೀಠ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಾನ ನೀಡುವ ಮೂರ್ತಿದೇವಿ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು . ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಪತಿ ಪ್ರತಿಭಾ ಪಾಟೀಲ್ ಅವರು ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರದಾನ ಮಾಡದ್ದಾರೆ.ಮೊಯಿಲಿ ಅವರು ರಚಿಸಿರುವ 'ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಮಯಣ ಮಹಾನ್ವೇಷಣಂ' ಮಹಾಕಾವ್ಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಈ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ದೊರಕಿದೆ. ಕನ್ನಡದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಬರಗಾರರಾಗಿರುವ ಮೊಯಿಲಿ ಐದು ಸಂಪುಟಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಮಾಯಣ ಮಹಾನ್ವೇಷಣಂ ಮಾಹಾಕಾವ್ಯವನ್ನು ರಚಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಣನೀಯ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿರುವ ಮೊಯಿಲಿ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಕಾದಂಬರಿ, ಮೂರು ಕವನ ಸಂಗ್ರಹ, ಮೂರು ನಾಟಕಗಳನ್ನು ರಚಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

VeerappaMoily was born in Marpadi Village, Moodabidri, Dakshina Kannada District, Karnataka. He did his B.A. from Government College situated at Hampankatta in Mangaluru city. He completed his B.L. from University Law College, Bengaluru

The Indian Institute of Technology Muddenahalli is to be the 17th IIT in India and has been approved as part of the 11th 5 year plan.[2] Construction is commencing soon and will be completed around 2012.

  9. ಈಗಿನಕೇಂದ್ರಮಂತ್ರಿಮಂಡಲದಲ್ಲಿಸದ್ದು- ಗದ್ದಲವಿಲ್ಲದೇತಮ್ಮಪಾಲಿನಕೆಲಸವನ್ನುಚೊಕ್ಕವಾಗಿಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡುಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರುವಕೆಲವೇಮಂತ್ರಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿವೀರಪ್ಪಮೊಯಿಲಿಅವರೂನಿಸ್ಸಂದೇಹವಾಗಿಒಬ್ಬರು. ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀ ಯ ಮಟ್ಟದಆಡಳಿತಸುಧಾರಣೆ, ತೆರಿಗೆನೀತಿಯಪರಿಷ್ಕರಣಗಳಂತಹವಿಚಾರಗಳಅಧ್ಯಯನಆಯೋಗದಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರ .ಸ್ವಭಾವತಃಮೊಯಿಲಿಅವರುಅಧ್ಯಯನಶೀಲವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ. ಅವರಮನಸ್ಸುಸುಮ್ಮನಿರುವಂತಹದ್ದಲ್ಲ. ಸುಮಾರುನಾಲ್ಕುದಶಕಗಳಹಿಂದೆಇಂದಿರಾಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ಸಿನಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತರಾಗಿ, ಅನಂತರಶಾಸಕರಾಗಿವೀರಪ್ಪಮೊಯಿಲಿವಿಧಾನಸೌಧವನ್ನುಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿದಾಗ, ಪುಟಪುಟನೆಜಿಗಿಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದ, ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಯಯುವಕ. ಈಗಅವರಿಗೆಎಪ್ಪತ್ತುವರ್ಷ. ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ಸಿನಹಿರಿಯರಲ್ಲಿಒಬ್ಬರು. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಯಾಗಿಅದಕ್ಕೂಮುಂಚೆಶಿಕ್ಷಣಮಂತ್ರಿಯಾಗಿವೃತ್ತಿಶಿಕ್ಷಣಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳಿಗೆವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಪ್ರವೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ‘ಸಿ‌ಇಟಿ’ (ಒಂದೇಪ್ರವೇಶಪರೀಕ್ಷೆ) ಪದ್ಧತಿಯನ್ನುಜಾರಿಗೆತಂದವರೇಮೊಯಿಲಿ.

  10. As a writer, Moily is noted for his concern for the marginalized classes, authenticity of depiction, and skilful craftsmanship. His major works are always preceded by extensive research and discussion with concerned experts. Hence his works have a distinct place of their own in Kannada. President PratibhaDevisinghPatil on Thursday presented the prestigious Moortidevi Award of BharatiyaJnanpith to Union Minister of Law and Justice VeerappaMoily for his outstanding work on ShriRamayanMahanveshanam.

Addressing the gathering after receiving the award, Moily described his work as a unique structure.“My Sree Ramayana Mahanveshanam, I humbly state, is in such glorious tradition of texts with a unique structure and a fresh context,” Moily said.“Its unique structure is the result of pondering over many Ramayana texts in the Jain tradition, Kannada retellings, and folk traditions; its fresh context is that of the challenges faced by modern Indian Society, especially in the period of globalisation on the one hand and rise of fundamentalism on the other,” he added.In his address, Moily expressed concern that even after achieving greater scientific and material developments man appears to have his animal instinct intact.

Even though human civilization has attained greater scientific and material development, man has not changed much; and many a time, he appears to have his animal instinct intact,” he said.“This epic poem is an attempt to discover or rediscover the values and ways of thinking which make it possible for mankind to move upwards in the path of creative evolution,” he added.
