  2. District website: www.hastings.k12.mn.us • Go to your building’s webpage. • Select Staff Login Links in Staff Corner • Click on the TIES (iCue/iPlan)link • Select iCue under Teacher Access • Log in to the iCue system District #= 200 User ID = Your employee id Welcome!

  3. Part 1: GradeBook Set-Up • On the top blue tab select Gradebook • Go to Set-Up and Select Preferences • Enter your phone number • Enter your email address • Decide how you want your numbers rounded • Check if you want adjusted points • Adjust font • SV icon indicates that the preference setting impacts SchoolView (what parents & students see) • Click on the ? icon to see a detailed description of how that setting works.

  4. Setup - Edit Publishing Status • Select Do Not Publish for all of your classes GradeBook Preferences Con’t

  5. Grading Scales • We can use up to 99 grading scales per class • We have a default grading scale and a pass fail grading scale set up. Default Grading Scale

  6. Pass/Fail Grading Scale Pass/Fail Grading Scale: • If you have a student that would benefit from a Pass/Fail Grading Scale you will need to add it. • To use the pass/fail select add a new grading scale and select it in the drop down menu

  7. Now that you have defined your grading scale you will need to assign it to that class or an individual within the class. In set-up select Assign Grading Scale. Assign the grading scale to the entire class or individual students Assign a Grading Scale

  8. Default categories are: Homework, Quizzes and Tests Select Set-up --- Category Editor if you want to change these or add new categories. Set up weighted categories if you want. Category weights must add up to 100. Example: Tests = 50% of grade, Quizzes 20% and homework 30%. Set-Up Categories

  9. Example Categories: Vocabulary Comprehension Constructed-Response Grammar Spelling Each of the categories can be weighted or you can choose to not use weighting of categories. Reading Categories: Example

  12. Another option is to use more generic categories (Homework, quizzes and tests). Weighting: Option 2:

  13. Daily work (0%) Tests (0%) Facts (0%) Here you will be using total points (although you can still tie a definition to a category) Math(non weighted)

  14. Daily work (50%) Tests (25%) Facts (25%) Here each of your categories has a given weight. Math (weighted)

  15. Nothing is set in stone. Nothing is being seen by the public (via SchoolView) Everything can be modified later Remember…

  16. Go to Scores on the top menu Select Reading In the Action Menuselect New Definition Enter a Title (Week 1) Enter a Category (Vocabulary) Enter a Start Date/Stop Date Click Save and Enter Adding a definition (assignment)

  17. If the majority of students have the same grade, simply enter it in the top box, select apply to all and modify the students that didn’t earn that grade. You may use the different status keys to signify why a student may not have points (absent). This is a great area for you to leave comments to remember later (s/he did not study the correct vocabulary etc.) Entering a grade: Definitions

  18. Save!!! Don’t forget….

  19. In the menu box of the definition you have three options: 1. Edit Score 2. Edit Definition (change category, points or dates). 3. Delete Definition Remember….. Do you want to modify the scores later?
