Green Farming Kenya Program Information. Introduction
Green Farming Kenya
Green Farming Kenya is a program for Dutch suppliers to the horticultural sector that are active in the export of goods, services, knowledge and advisory on the Kenyan market. The aim of the program is to promote the export of Dutch products to Kenya’s horticultural sector and improve the Dutch market share by collective actions. Besides that, also intensifying the co-operation between Dutch members and Kenyan companies and organisations in the areas of research, development and production is part of the goal.
AVAG, a representative of joint Dutch horticultural suppliers and DLV Plant, will coordinate the program for the coming three years. The Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation will support the program. In addition to the cluster of businesses that are a member of Green Farming Kenya, also Wageningen University and Research Centre supports the program and is actively involved on the level of research and knowledge transfer.
During the course of the program projects on the level of government-to-government will be initiated as well. The projects will be based on the input of members companies. The most important components of the projects on G-to-G level will be economic diplomacy, knowledge transfer, capacity building and bilateral cooperation.
