  1. When I was little, we didn’t have much of the cool technology we have today. I remember watching movies on bulky VHS tapes an watching only a couple stations on TV. I remember mainly watching cartoons, like on the Disney channel and nickelodeon. The live action shows didn’t really have much special effects but I liked them anyway. I didn’t have much tech savvy toys, but I did play with Barbies, beanie babies, Lite Brites, and games such as Pokémon, Sonic, and Mario Party on my Gam Boy Color. After a couple years I got a Game Boy Advance. I used to have a doll that’s hair would grow it you touched a wand to her head. I always wondered how that happened. I also had a Furby, a tape recorder( I had a cd player later on when they came out). The older I get the more new technology comes out. Now my younger siblings have IPods and MP3s, DVD players, toys that move and talk on their own, DS, and Xboxes. Granted I have some of these new things too. its just interesting to see how much technology effects younger kids and plays a big role in their life now. They have a lot more cool toys than I did.Honestly in my household I'm the most Tech literate person. My grandparents and parents haven't quite embraced the new age of technology yet. They get very frustrated with me. I'm always the first one to my a new electronic gadget to use. Like my phone. I'm always on it(a Samsung GLEAM) texting and making calls to see how everyone in my life is doing. They don’t see the need to have one. I've had 3 phones since 6th grade. Each more technologically advanced than the first. In 6th grade I started with a Migo. Didn’t allow much. You could call 4 people, and allowed 10minutes per phone call. In 8th grade I had a Trac Phone. A little better but you really couldn’t do much on it but text and call. My phone no has internet, texting, video messages, a camera, and other features that I find incredibly helpful in everyday use. I'm always using the computer at home to. This is a relatively new feature I our house. I remember when we got our first one. It was huge and bulky and very slow. The one we have now is smaller, flat screen, very fast and easy to use as well. At the moment I'm aspiring to get my self a lap top like my uncles. Its about the size of a text book, but only a quarter of the thickness. The latest piece of Technology I've bought was an Apple IPod classic. Its one of the best things I own. I've downloaded all my cds onto a small device the size of a phone. It holds up to 20000 songs, as well as movie and pictures should I decide to put them on. Before that I bought a digital camera which I love. I like to have all my photos on a small chip rather than having a box full of them. It also allows me to see my shot to determine if its worth saving.

  2. Although technology is wonderful and helps our lives, it comes with consequences. good and bad. Ithinders our social interaction with people to the point they may become socially inadequate. Instead of going to the person to talk , we send texts, emails, or talk on the phone. We lose the ability to have social skills. it does offer new ways to stay fit though. The new Wii fit and other Wii games call for interaction and movement in order to play. Technology also makes it easier to be entertained and to find information quicker. Its also helpful because it allows you to connect with people quickly and easy. That’s why I made my self a face book and MySpace account, so I could remain connected to friends and family. The sites are a great way to talk to people. I think You'd have to be technologically literate in the future. Otherwise you can find yourself falling behind, not getting jobs you want and not able to be connected to people. I learned about all my technology from interaction with other people that had it, like friends and family. So I guess I would be a follower but also in the middle to because I'm the first one to get new technology in my household. I mainly find out through my friends about new trends but they find out from me too. So we kind if help each other by keeping everyone up to date, and letting each other know what we find. I absolutely love technology. I love how much easier it makes life now. I don’t really know were I would be without all my technology.
