  11. Technical Data • Installation Considerations for all Axor Starck X and Axor Starck Electronic Faucets • Flush the hot and cold supplies thoroughly before installing the faucet. Damage to the faucet caused by debris is not covered under the warranty. • The hot and cold supplies should be of equal pressure. • The faucet should NOT be used with a continuous flow water heater. • Do not install the faucet on a sink with a raised edge. • Strong light sources should not shine directly on the sensor window of the faucet. • The faucet should only be used with the battery pack of power pack supplied by Hansgrohe. • The 110 V version requires a 110 V outlet installed by a licensed electrician. • The faucet incorporates automatic range adjustment – the sensor automatically adjusts itself to local conditions (lavatory, brightness, etc.)

Technical Data • Installation Considerations for all Axor Starck X and Axor Starck Electronic Faucets • The distance between the switch on/off point to the faucet is approx. 6 ¼” – 8” under normal conditions. The detection area may be less for dark, non-reflective objects, or greater for bright, highly reflective objects. • Drops of water or condensation on the sensor window may cause the faucet to run. • If the LED in the sensor window flashes while the faucet is in use, the battery is low, but the faucet may still be used. If the LED stays on, the faucet will not run, and the battery must be changed. • If the power to the outlet fails, the 110 V version of the faucet will not run. • The spray pattern will be unattractive immediately after installation of service, due to air in the faucet. After the faucet is used 10 -15 times, the spray pattern will clear.

  13. Technical Data Installation Position the faucet on the sink or countertop (1). Install and tighten the mounting net (2). Tighten the tensioning screws (3). Connect the 3/8” adapters to the stops (4). Connect the hoses to the adapters (5).

  14. Technical Data Installation Connect the faucet power cable to the battery pack or AC power pack (1). Plug the AC power pack in. Turn the hot and cold supplies (2). Remove the protective film from the sensor window (3). Wait 30 seconds before attempting to use the faucet (4). Position your hand in front of the sensor to turn the water on. Due to air in the faucet, the spray pattern may be unattractive for the first 10 – 15 uses after installation of service. Models with manual temperature adjustment only: pull the temperature lever forward to make the water cooler, backward to make it warmer.

  15. Technical Data Temperature adjustment Turn the water supplies off (1). Disconnect the faucet power cable from the battery back or AC power pack (2). Remove the screw from the rear of the faucet (3). Remove the faucet body (1). Turn the temperature screw forward to make the water cooler, backward to make it water (2). Dry any drops of water from the faucet or mounting surface.

  17. Technical Data Battery Replacement If the LED in the sensor window flashes, the battery is low but the faucet can still be used. If the LED lights continuously, the battery must be changed before the faucet can be used. Remove the four screws and the battery pack cover. Remove the old battery (1). Install the new battery (2). Reinstall the battery pack cover. Wait 30 seconds (1). Activate the faucet by placing a hand in front of the sensor (2).

  18. Technical Data Clean the aerator and filters If the water flow is reduced over time, clean the aerator (a) and the filters (b). Turn the water supplies off (1). Disconnect the power cable (2). Axor Starck Unscrew and remove the aerator (a).

All Models Disconnect the hot and cold supply hoses from the adapters. Remove the filters (b). At another sink, rinse the filters and the aerator or spray former. Reinstall the aerator or spray former. Replace the filters and reconnect the hot and cold supply hoses.

  20. Technical Data Cleaning The faucet may be turned off temporarily so that the sink may be cleaned. Cover the sensor window with a hand for approximately 10 seconds. The faucet will turn off for approximately 60 seconds, so that the sink may be cleaned. The LED in the sensor window will flash. When the LED no longer flashes, the faucet may be used normally.

  21. Technical Data Reduce the sensor range The sensor is set for maximum range at the factory. If the faucet is used on a very small or highly reflective lavatory, the sensor range may be reduced by approximately 2”. Disconnect the power cable for 10 seconds (1). Reconnect the power cable (2). The LED will blink once to indicate that it is in the “maximum range” mode.

Technical Data Reduce the sensor range When the LED stays on, cover the sensor window with your hand or with a white card for 20 – 40 seconds to reset the electronics*. *If the card or hand is removed in less than 20 seconds, or after 40 seconds, the sensor mode will not reset. When the hand or card is removed, the LED will blink – once for “maximum range”, twice for “reduced range”. The LED will then stay on while the sensor recalibrates itself. When the LED turns off, the faucet is ready for use.

  31. Technical Data Installation Flush the hot and cold supplies thoroughly before installing this faucet. Place the faucet in the hole on the mounting surface (1). Tighten the mounting nut (2). Install the adapters and filters on the stops (3). Install the supply lines (4). Be careful not to twist the supply lines, or them may become loose form the faucet, causing a leak.

  32. Technical Data Installation Turn the water on to the faucet (1). Peel the protective film from the sensor (2). Wait 15 seconds, then place a hand in front or the sensor (3). The water should turn on automatically. For Manual Temperature control models: Pivot the temperature control lever forward to make the water cooler (4).

  33. Technical Data Installation – Set the temperature For preset water temperature models: Turn the water off at the stops. Remove the set screw on the back of the faucet. Pull the faucet housing off (1). Use a screwdriver to set the water temperature (2). Turn the screw to the rear to make the water warmer, to the front to make it cooler. Replace the faucet housing. Tighten the set screw.

  34. Technical Data Cleaning Block the sensor for 5 seconds (1). This will turn the water for approximately 90 seconds, so the sink may be cleaned (2). Faucet Maintenance – Replace the battery When the battery is low, the sensor light will flash. Remove the set screw from the back of the faucet (1). For manual temp adjustment models, remove the handle screw and the handle (2). Remove the faucet housing (3). Remove the old battery (4). Install a new lithium CR-P2/6V battery (5).

  35. Technical Data Cleaning Clean the filter and aerator. If the flow of water is reduced, the aerator and/or the filters must be cleaned. To clean the aerator: Block the sensor for 5 seconds to temporarily shut off the water (1). Unscrew and remove the vandal resistant aerator using the enclosed key (2). Flush any debris from the aerator at another faucet. Replace the aerator. To clean the filters: Turn the water off at the stops. Disconnect the supply hoses from the adapters. Remove and clean the filters.

Meter Faucets • Installation Considerations for Hansgrohe Meter Faucets • This unit cannot be used with a continuous flow water heater. • Large differences in pressure between the hot and cold water supplies should be balanced. • This unit does not include a drain. • Model 15090001 requires hot and cold water supplies. The maximum high temperature can be re-set to comply with local plumbing codes. • Model 15097001 requires only a cold water supply.

  38. Meter Faucets • 15090001 Installation • From the top, feed the hot and cold hoses through the hole on the mounting surface. Sit the faucet on the mounting surface (1). • From below, slide the mounting piece over the threaded rod. Screw the mounting nut onto the threaded rod (2). • Install the adapters to the hot and cold stops. Attached the check valves and filter screens to the adapters. Attach the hoses to the check valves (3) using two wrenches, as shown. Take care not to twist or kink the supply hoses.

  39. Meter Faucets • 15097001 Installation • Sit the faucet on the mounting surface (1). • From below, install the washers and the mounting nut. Tighten the mounting nut firmly against the bottom of the mounting surface (2). • Thread the supply hose into the faucet and tighten by hand (3), then give a final tightening with a 10 mm wrench. Take care not to over tighten. • Attach the adapter to the supply stop. Screw the supply hose to the adapter (4) using two wrenches, taking care not to twist the supply hose.

  40. Meter Faucets • Set the timing • Remove the set screw on the back of the handle with a 3 mm allen wrench and remove the handle. • Use a flat head screwdriver to turn the timing screw. Turn it clockwise to increase the time, counter-clockwise to decrease the time. The minimum time is 1 second, the maximum is 39 seconds.

  41. Meter Faucets • Set the maximum high temperature for 15090001 only • Turn on the water and turn the handle to the right to obtain hot water. If it is too hot, re-set the maximum high temperature. • Remove the set screw on the back of the handle with a 3 mm allen wrench. Remove the handle. • Remove the high temperature limit stop pin and move it forward. • Reinstall the handle and test the faucet. Move the limit stop pin further forward if it is still too hot.

  42. Meter Faucets • User Instructions • Press the handle to turn the faucet on. It will automatically turn off. • On the 15090001, turn the handle to the right for hot water and to the left for cold water. Trouble Shooting • If thefaucet drips, will not turn on, or will not turn off, replace the cartridge (1,2). • 15090001 only: If the temperature cannot be controlled by turning the handle, replace the cartridge (1,2). • If the flow of the water is insufficient, remove and clean the aerator (3). If this does not help, remove and clean the filter screens and check valves on the hot and cold water supplies (4).
