  1. Do We Tremble at His Word? Isaiah 66:1-2 "But on this [one] will I look: On [him who is] poor and of a contrite spirit, And who trembles at My word.” *Are we still known as “The People of the Book?”*

  2. Hebrews 5:12-14 • “God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. Nor is He worshiped with men's hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things.”Acts 17:22-32 • Where is the fear of God in hearts today? James 1:22 (Are you one to critique the word?) • How can the fear of God be in the hearts of men and women, when they are being taught not to trust in God’s word? (Stories vs. Accounts, Translations)

  3. Are we held accountable now? • Is there really a Hell of Fire? Matthew 13:49-51 • Will we really be held accountable for what we say or do? 2 Corinthians 5:10;Gal.6:7-8 • Will we be blamed for what we believed, or didn’t believe? (Faith still comes through hearing the word!Romans 10:17; Revelation 20:11-15; 21:7-8; MANY ARE UNPREPARED FOR THAT DAY! • Do we have to think about it right now? What if your not a good reader, does that count against you? 2 Timothy 2:14-19; Titus 2:11-14

The Fear of the Lord is a Way of Life for the “Christian” who aims to be faithful to God! • But the Fear of the Lord is not a choice, but rather a commitment for those that walk in the light of His Word! 1 John 1:5-7 • Romans 12:1-3, “be not conformed” • 2 Corinthians 7:1, “perfecting holiness” • Ephesians 5:21, “submitting to one another in the fear of God.”

  5. God’s Wishes • 2 Peter 3:9, “,but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” • 1 Timothy 2:3-4 “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men be saved, and to come to a knowledge of the truth.”

  6. CONCLUSION • Isaiah 57:11-21, “because I held My peace from of old, That you did not fear Me?” • Isaiah 59:1-2, “but your sins have separated you from your God”

  7. Psalm 51:16-17, “For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give [it]; You do not delight in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God [are] a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart-- These, O God, You will not despise. • Isaiah 66:5, “Hear the word of the LORD, You who tremble at His word: "Your brethren who hated you, Who cast you out for My name's sake, said, 'Let the LORD be glorified, That we may see your joy.' But they shall be ashamed."
