  1. Introducing Siemens Q-Series RH & RHT Room Sensors

  2. Q-Series Room Humidity Sensors – What’s So Exciting? • Same housing, but new technology! • Many new features and benefits • Versions for many applications • Signal options • Accuracy options • Easy to service • Very affordable!!

  3. Q-Series RH Room Sensors – Applications Use in all standard applications for building control: • HVAC Installations • Energy Management Systems • VAV and Fan Control • Dual Duct Applications • Critical Environments

  4. Q-Series RH Room Sensors – Features • Offered as 5/3%, or 2%versions • Removable, replaceable sensing tips • Available as RH sensing only or RH with Temperature • A variety of output signals available

  5. Q-Series RH Room Sensors – Design Details • Temperature-compensated element – superior accuracy! • Digital signal – minimizes reading errors • Circuit layout allows fit into existing room housing • Common look with temp sensors • Great for retrofits – same look & feel!

  6. Q-Series RH Room Sensors – Accuracies • 5% (3%) Versions • 5% accuracy over range of 0-95% relative humidity • 3% accuracy over the “comfort” range (30% to 70% r.h.) • 2% Versions • Accuracy over the range of 0-95% relative humidity • Removable, replaceable sensing tips

  7. Q-Series RH Room Sensors – Signals • Active signals for Humidity or Temperature • 0-10 Volts; may be powered by AC or DC Voltage • 4 to 20mA current • Resistive signals for Temperature • 1K Platinum RTD (385 Alpha) • 1K Nickel RTD (compatible with Siemens VFDs) • 10K NTC Type II for LON TEC or other BAS’s • 10K NTC Type III for retrofitting other BAS’s Note: on RH&T versions with passive temp, Only 0-10Volt output is offered for rh signal

  8. Q-Series RH Room Sensors – Competitive Summary X Offered -- Not Offered

  9. Q-Series RH Room Sensors – Documentation • Specification Sheet – 149-994 • Installation Instructions – 129-415 • Product Selection Guide – 153-857P3

  10. Q-Series RH Room Sensors -Selling Arguments vs. Honeywell/Hycal HCT829 • Available as humidity only units • Does not measure accurately above 90%. • Only available in a 4-20 mA version. • Element does not recover well from 100% saturation. • Humidity element is not replaceable. • Honeywell offers no versions with certification

  11. Q-Series RH Room Sensors -Selling Arguments vs. Johnson Controls (HE-67xx) • Does not offer a removable, replaceable tip • Only measures up to 90% relative humidity • Cannot measure at 4% accuracy or better over the 80% rh • On RH&T versions, sensor not temperature range selectable • No 0-10 Volt temperature signal is offered for temperature • Element may not recover from 100% saturation

  12. Q-Series RH Room Sensors -Selling Arguments vs. Veris Industries HNR/HXR • Veris sensors not UL listed • Product only measures accurately up to 90% rh • Devices not range selectable on temp versions.

  13. Q-Series RH Room Sensors -Selling Arguments vs. ACI A/RHx-R types • Sensing element not removable or replaceable • Only accurate to 95% relative humidity • SBT’s device measures from 0-100% for the 2% model • ACI product not temperature range selectable • ACI does not offer a UL listed product

  14. Selling Arguments vs. GE/ General Eastern -Microline (MRH and MRHTx types) • No removable tip – must replace entire unit! • Measures over a 20-95% rh range only • MRHT products don’t have temperature range selectability • Temperature output signal is only offered as a 4-20mA • Poor accuracy Tests vs. GEI sensors under extreme conditions showed new Siemens sensors perform much better than Microline products!

  15. Q-Series RH Room Sensors -Selling Arguments vs. Kele • Does not have their own product • Resells ACI, Hycal/Honeywell, Vaisala, and GEI products • Relies on service to gain market share

  16. Q-Series RH Room Sensors -Selling Arguments vs. BAPI the BA/H200, BA/H300 • Only measures to 95% rh • Does not offer temperature range selectable • Does not offer certified sensors • Sensors are not UL listed • Element will not recover from 100% saturation

  17. Q-Series RH Room Sensors Selling Arguments vs. Vaisala HMR60 or HMR70 • Does not offer temperature range selectable • Does not offer UL listed devices • Very expensive!! • For a much lower price, Siemens’ Q-Series humidity sensors • offer all the accuracy and reliability you need!
