  3. Introductions Take 2-3 minutes to learn everyone’s name in your group and what homeroom they are in You will be quizzed!

  4. Before you work with your group to brainstorm ideas about your business we are going to do an example together… • Pretend that you have a babysitting business. What are some quality characteristics that your customers would look for in your business? __________________ __________________ __________________ __________________

  5. Your turn! • As a business, brainstorm quality characteristics for your type of business. Write down ALL ideas that are said. • Narrow your list down to your top 3 • Write those characteristics in your booklet on pages BP-6 & BP-7

Business Name • Why is a business’ name important? • Things to keep in mind when coming up with a business name… • Your name should reflect what type of business you have. • You don’t want it to be too long! • Be original! Don’t use a name of an existing business. -Write your business name at the tope of pages BP-4, BP-5, BP-6, BP-7, BP-8

Slogan • What is a SLOGAN? • What are some examples that you have heard on radio commercials, TV commercials, or on a flyer? • Some important things to keep in mind when you create your business slogan… • Make it catchy so people will remember it • Integrate one or more of your quality traits • Effective slogans are short and sweet - Write your slogan on pages BP-6 & BP-7

  8. What is this an example of? • What are some important things to include in a business advertisement?

  9. It’s your turn! • As a business, come up with a headline for your business advertisement. It can be in the form of a questions, or just a generic title. • Write your headline on page BP-4 • Using no more than 3-4 sentences, write a descriptive advertisement for your business. Convince people that they need to come to your business! Write it on page BP-4

  10. Radio Advertisement • Take what you used for your newspaper advertisement and turn it into a radio commercial • Practice reading it and make sure it is not over 30 sec. • Write your final copy on page BP-5

  11. Philanthropy Pledge • What does Philanthropy mean? • Donating time, skills, and/or money to charitable organizations in your community and beyond. • Read over page BP-8 and all employee’s must sign their signature (Yes, a signature is first and last names in cursive!)

  12. CFO & CEO Meeting • Teacher meets with CEOs & CFOs to complete pages BP-1, BP-2, & BP-3 Everyone else: On white construction paper, create a business sign
