  1. Oolong Tea - A Contributing Factor In Prevention And Treating Of Diabetes Summary: Tea is an important part of our culture and one cannot think to do away with it. Oolong tea has a high source of polyphenol, minerals, vitamin c and antioxidants that helps in the treatment of diabetic patients and in prevention for those who are prone to diabetes. How is it beneficial than the more popular choices? Oolong tea, with its enriched wide range of flavors, pleasant aroma and greater health benefits, is becoming a much handier choice than green tea and black tea. Among plenty of others, one of the benefits that comes from this tea is, its caffeine content is quite less than that of black tea and has greater sensitivity to insulin control than green tea. What is Oolong tea? Famous since the Fuijan China province, it is believed to the home powerfully built for health benefits and fighting off free radical elements. The nutritional values of one serving – fat and cholesterol is zero percentage, sodium is 10mg, calcium is at 4% and vitamin c at 100%. It comes from the mountainous regions of China. It is made by fermentation of the leaves, buds and stem of the Camellia Sinemis plant. The color of the tea has a mix shade of greenish to brownish. The combination was more productive than with drugs alone. •Pilot study by Agricultural Research Service, 2001, drinking of 6 cups every day, reduced the blood pressure level by 15-20% in type-2 diabetic patients. •Others, 24 ounces of this tea, daily have about 16% decreased risk of type-2 diabetes. Those who already have, it can treat by reducing around 30%. During its fermentation process, the oxidization percentage is between 8% - 80%, which is why the content of polyphenol element is more! Polyphenol has rich antioxidants and helps in diabetes and digestion issues. Due to its rich antioxidant properties, it helps to boost your body’s metabolism rate. Therefore, the faster your food is digested, there is less accumulation of fats and thus, less risk of higher blood sugar level.
