  1. I invite any physique competitor who is shopping for a one of a kind Bikini Competition Suit, Figure Competition Suit or Women’s Physique Suit to come experience the difference Shawn’s Couture Cuties Delivers. In every step of the way you can expect to be amazed!

  2. Simple Tips to Picking a Winning Bikini Competition Suit Sometimes your eyes get so accustomed to the scenery that if you don't have a change, you're bored. It's the same with fashion, and that, I feel, is what personal style is about. Everyone has a sense of style or swagger, as it’s called these days. Swagger is that IT factor you’re born with and when working with a client I never try to change the swagger unless it’s really hurting their chances of a good result (like show boating on stage).

  3. But your swagger can only shine if the cut of your suit is right. The biggest mistake I see time and again are competitors trying to fit a round peg in a square hole. Think male bodybuilder in skinny jeans. YUCK! Above all else, even above the color and stoning, the cut of your suit is crucial, the foundation of the Bikini Competition Suit design and even your stage presence!

  4. How does this relate to your stage presence? Frankly, it’s everything and then some! You can sense when a competitor feels uncomfortable in the Bikini Competition Suit that she is wearing. Maybe it rides up her bum a little too much. Or maybe it doesn’t hold her tata’s in place just right. Perhaps it makes her hips wide or shoulders narrow…. whatever it is, you can tell she doesn’t feel or look 100% right in it.

  5. This is why it’s so important to get a suit designer you can trust to make your suit exactly how you like it---tailored to your body. When you get ready to purchase a suit you have three options; you can borrow one, buy one off the rack or have one custom made couture. And I suggest if you have the budget, to have your competition suit designed couture and here is why....

  6. Your body is going to change quite a bit as you go through prep, and you will need a direct line of open communication with your suit designer to discuss the tweaks you will desire along the way. Moreover, when you buy a suit off the rack you are getting boiled chicken one size fits all. Yes you can have it tailored but it never quite fits right. And the same goes for borrowed suits, which in some cases can be worse because you may be unable to tailor the suit.

  7. More importantly there is an art to designing and fitting a suit. There are certain materials and stitching that look great but are not practical for an NPC level Bikini Competition Suit. You see many of these materials used in the off the rack suits, they look great on the body form but bunch up when you wear them or worse look like a loaded diaper. Needless to say it’s not very pretty.

  8. A good suit designer will take the time to understand your personality, body shape, history of how your shape changes during prep, image package, eye and hair color and other intangibles and feeds all that information into the design. At that point the blueprint is created and the design stage goes into motion to create the perfect fitted Bikini Competition Suit for your physique.

  9. Personally, I spend time getting to know my clients before I start any work by developing an extensive profile. Why? Because the closer I can step into my client’s shoes the more fantastic the design will be. http://shawnscouturecuties.com
