  1. Hatching Brine Shrimp Experimental Procedure

  2. Step 1 • Label four cups: • 0 spoons • 2 spoons • 4 spoons • 6 spoons (Use post-it notes as labels. Write your name, class letter, and table number on each label. Secure with tape.)

  3. Step 2 • Measure 150 ml of water into each of the cups using the 100 ml beaker.

  4. Step 3 • Measure salt into the labeled cups using the 5 ml spoon. Use a craft stick to level the measure. Gently stir using white plastic spoon to dissolve the salt.

  5. Step 4 • Put 1 level mini-spoon of brine shrimp eggs in each cup. • Put the lid on and gently swirl the water to wet the eggs.

  6. Word Bank (add to notes in Journal) Brine Shrimp: tiny animals (crustaceans) found in salt ponds and salt lakes. Salinity: how salty water is, the concentration of salt in water.
