How to Display the Temperature

Each press of the Return button switches between the display and non-display of theOA/RA inlet temperature*1 and heat-exchanged SA temperature (calculated value)*2 .

(the temperature is not displayed when the temperature display setting is set to OFF.)

*1 The temperatures displayed on the remote controller are the temperatures detected at the inlet port of the product

main unit, and may differ from the actualOA temperature and RA temperature.

*2 The calculated value for standard exchange efficiency is displayed, so the indicated temperature may differ from the actual SA

temperature. If you want to display a value that is closer to the actual temperature, perform exchange efficiency correction.

.During By-pass operation, the temperature is not displayed for the RA and SA (calculated value).

Note: If a temperature display setting is set to OFF (not displayed) in the switch display settings of the remote controller function selector, the temperature for that location is not displayed.

.If the temperature sensor detection temperature becomes 40oC or more or -10oC or less, the indications for both RA and OA become "- -", and the indication for SA also becomes "- -".

.If an error occurs, the correct temperature may not be displayed.

Refer to Lossnay technical Manual Page C-89.

3. Lossnay Usage Conditions

a) Safety Precautions (Temperature and humidity)

1. Lossnay Operating Environment

Pay special attention to extreme operating conditions.

1.1 Cold Weather Area Intermittent Operation

When the OA temperature falls below -10oC during operation, the SA-fan will change to intermittent operation. OFF for 10 minutes, ON for 60 minutes.

1.2 In Cold Climates with Outdoor Temperature of -5oC or Less

Plot the Lossnay intake air conditions A and B on a Psychrometric chart (see right). If the high temperature side air B intersects the saturation curve such as at C, moisture condensation or frost will build on Lossnay. In this case, the low temperature side air A should be warmed up to the temperature indicated by Point A’ so that Point C shifts to the Point C’.

Confidential

3. Lossnay Usage Conditions

a) Safety Precautions (Temperature and humidity )

1.3 In High Humidity Conditions with Relative Humidity of 80% or More

When using the system in high humidity conditions such as heated indoor pools, bathrooms, mushroom cultivation houses, high-fog areas etc., moisture will condense inside the Core, and drainage will occur. General-purpose Lossnay units that use treated paper cannot be installed in those types of environments.

1.4 Other Special Conditions

・Lossnay units cannot be installed in locations where toxic gases and corrosive elements such as acids, alkalis, organic solvents, oil mist or paints exist.

・Cannot be installed where heat is recovered from odiferous air and supplied to another area.

・Avoid installing in a location where unit could be damaged by salt or hot water.

2. Sound Levels of Lossnay Units with Built-in Fans

The sound levels specified for Lossnay units are generated from tests conducted in an anechoic chamber. The sound levels may increase by 8 to 11 dB according to the installation construction material and room contents.

When using Lossnay units in a quiet room, it is recommended silencer duct, silencer intake/exhaust grill or silencer box be installed.

Confidential

3. Lossnay Usage Conditions

a) Safety Precautions (Temperature and humidity )

3. Attaching Air Filters

An air filter must be mounted to both the intake and exhaust air inlets to clean the air and to prevent the Core from clogging. Periodically clean the filter for optimum Lossnay unit performance.

4. Constructing the Ductwork

・ Always add insulation to the two ducts on the outdoor side (outdoor air intake and exhaust outlet) to prevent frost or condensation from forming.

・ The outdoor duct gradient must be 1/30 or more (to wall side) to prevent rain water from going into the system.

・ Do not use standard vent caps or round hoods where those may come into direct contact with rain water.(A deep hood is recommended.)

5. Bypass Ventilation

Do not operate “bypass ventilation” when heating during winter. Frost or condensation may form on the main unit.

6. Night purge function

Do not use the night purge function if fog or heavy rain is expected. Rain water may enter the unit during the night.

3. Lossnay Usage Conditions

b) Cold area operation (Use of external device unit-1 at OA Side)

Cautions for selecting external device unit

  • Actual air volume is calculated by ductwork pressure loss. Select the capacity of external device considering calculated air volume.

Calculating air volume should be at Low fan speed air volume.

Temperature deference between before and after external device should be less than 20 oC.

If capacity is calculated at high fan speed air volume, after-device temperature might rise too high (ex. over 20 oC) during low fan speed operation. Then, after-device temp. repeats going down to -5 oC and going up to 15 oC. In this case, contact may be broken by repetitive switching ON and OFF of the external device contactor.

3. Lossnay Usage Conditions

b) Cold area operation (Use of external device unit-1 at OA Side)

Cautions for selecting external device unit

2. Select the capacity of external device to ensure Toa2 is always above -10 oC.

If Lossnay OA thermistor measure less than -10 oC at 60 minutes after operating, intermittence operation of SA fan stops operation for 10 minutes and normal operation for 60 minutes.

External device is stopped by Lossnay PCB.
