  3. DigiSewer in Action DigiSewer converts an analog video signal into a digital scan for higher-resolution screen presentation than conventional CCTV.

DigiSewer: Similarities to CCTV • Same equipment, similar workflow • No special setup, deployment or operation • Data easily integrates with inspection reporting software, asset databases • Same steerability and crawler performance as conventional CCTV. • Inspection results available immediately.

DigiSewer: Advantages Over CCTV • DigiSewer is faster than conventional CCTV (70 fpm vs 30) • DigiSewer uses digital storage more efficiently (16,000 ft on a single DVD) • No stopping or panning/tilting for defects • Accurate and detailed annotation • Lower cost of ownership • Consumes less digital capacity/bandwidth for archiving and sharing

  6. System Components: Crawler A versatile platform: • Steerable • Multi-function: perform traditional pan/tilt inspection and DSS interchangeably • Low-maintenance

  7. System Components: Camera • DigiSewer’s wide-angle lens and LED light array allow 3 levels of illumination intensity. • Camera captures evenly lit cross-sectional images in pipes of varying diameter (6-60”).

  8. System Component: Computer • The CPU digitally unwraps cross-sectional images and stitches them together into one long scan whose height corresponds to pipe diameter, and whose length corresponds to the length of the pipe.

  9. System Component: Software • Ability to view Scan Data in three different views: Sidescan View, Front View and Thumbnail View.

  10. System Components: Software • Accurate location and measurement using 2D and 3D measurement
