  6. Pro Edition • Remote Desktop • Remote assistance is included in both additions • Two processor support • ASR –Automated System Recovery • Dynamic disk support • Fax • IIS- Internet Information Services (web)

  7. Pro Edition • EFS • File level access control • Group Policy Support • Able to join a 2000 domain • Intellimirror • RIS, SW installation, self annealing apps • Roaming Profiles

  8. Pro Edition • Multi-language Support • Sysprep support • 64 bit edition to ship for ITANIUM • IPSEC • SNMP • SAP agent • CSNW + Print Services for UNIX

  9. Pro Edition • Network Monitor driver • Guest account disabled by default • Enabled on Home • Client Side Caching (Offline Folders) • encrypted…and can encrypt Offline files database • Can be Admin tools on menu • Security Configuration and Analysis and Security Template files • Blank Password Restriction • No password, local access only, no Runas • Doesn’t apply to domain or guest accounts

  10. Pro Edition • Location aware Group Policy in ICS/ICF • When a Windows XP Professional computer is a member of a domain, the domain administrator can enable a group policy preventing the use of Internet Connection Sharing on the corporate network. When you bring your computer home Internet Connection Sharing is available because the policy does not pertain to your home network • Software Restriction Policies • Through GPEDIT.msc or GPO’s. The default rule can be set to unrestricted or disallowed—essentially "run" or "don’t run." Setting the default rule to "unrestricted" enables an administrator to define exceptions that are just the set of programs that are forbidden to run. A more secure approach involves setting the default rule to disallowed, and specifying only the programs that are known and trusted to run.
