  2. The Set-up • Take out a piece of paper and write down 3 people who have been influential to you. • Then, write down as many adjectives as you can describing what made them so influential.  • Ex. Mr. O'Rourke-energetic, passionate, goofy, adaptable, considerate, impartial, philosophical

  3. Who wants to share? The Last Lecture Groupwork: What would make Randy Pausch an influential person in someone’s life? Write this under your 3 people.

  4. Here’s a challenge… • Number your paper from K-10. • Can you name ALL of your teachers from K-10? 6th-Mr. Rendizo 7th-Mrs. Stetz Mrs. Vellis 8th-Mrs. Smolen 9th-Ms. Siniscalchi 10th-Mr. Fromfield 11th-Ms. Sudol 12th-Mr. O’Rourke K-Ms. Maciag 1st-Mrs. Ficarra 2nd-Mrs. Perucci 3rd-Mrs. Slominski 4th-Mrs. Van Blarcom 5th-Mrs. Michaels

  5. Here’s my senior year schedule… • 1. English-Mr. O’Rourke (the reason I became a teacher an not a PT) • 2. Gym/Health-Ms. Heuer, Mr. G, Ms. Witcraft, Mr. • 3. AP Biology-Mr. Rock • 4. Journalism-Ms. Tomassi • 5. International Affairs-Mr. Paladino • 6. Lunch • 7. Trig/Cal. Honors-Steiny (my softball coach) • 8. Art-Ms. Van Blarcom (my 4th grade teacher’s daughter)

  6. The Question… • Why?? Why should I remember and care? • Why should you? • What are teachers, coaches, parents, tutors, aides, and even your annoying older (and younger!) siblings teaching you? • Are you living your life to the fullest? Answer: NO!!!

  7. You won’t understand this until your older… • “Desiderata” by Max Ehrmann • Def: something that is needed or wanted • Read it here. • “Wear Sunscreen” by Baz Luhrmann • US Top 50 song in the late 90s • Listen to it here. Extra Credit: Write your own version of a “Desiderata” or “Wear Sunscreen” song. -Typed-this is a must!! -20-30 lines/pieces of advice -Make sure it is applicable to not just YOU but someone like your parents. -Handed to me in the first 5 minutes of class. -Due: Wednesday, June 7th
