What is Golden Key? • Golden Key is an International Honour Society which recognizes and encourages academic achievement and excellence. • Membership is by invitation only to those students who earn this outstanding academic distinction. • Founded in 1977 at Georgia State University in Atlanta and has since expanded in the U.S. and internationally. • The UC Davis Chapter was founded on June 2, 1986. • There are 335 collegiate chapters throughout the United States, Australia, Canada, Malaysia, South Africa and New Zealand. • Well Known Members include Bill Clinton, Bill Cosby, Ronald Reagan, John Grisham and Colin Powell

How to Join Golden Key • Invitations have been sent out with instructions on how to join • It is a one-time payment of $70 for lifetime membership • The Induction Ceremony will be in Winter Quarter • If you have above a 3.5 GPA, are a junior or senior, and have not received an invitation email memberservices@goldenkey.org and attach a copy of your transcript

  16. GK Point System • Point Distribution -community service: 3 pts/hr - fundraisers: 2pts/hr - meetings: 2pts - social events: 2pts for 1st hr, 1pt after that - donation drive: varies - article for newsletter: 3pts

How does point system work? - 20 pts allows you to purchase grad items at a discounted price - 35 points = free Golden Key gift - 60 points = 20% off a graduation item + a free Golden Key gift - 120 points = 35% off a graduation item plus a free Golden Key gift - 160 points = 35% off a graduation item + a free Golden Key gift + a free pizza. - 200 points = $100.00 off the registration cost of GK International Convention or receive 35% off a graduation item + a free Golden Key gift + a free pizza
