What tectonic model explains the 40 Ma E-W porphyry belt?

What tectonic model explains the 40 Ma E-W porphyry belt?. Does not fit the “standard” model but may fit the “taco” model of Humphries. Or does it simply reflect change in tectonic regime at 40 Ma and opening of an ancient suture?. Why are CTDs found in linear arrays?.

  1. What tectonic model explains the 40 Ma E-W porphyry belt? Does not fit the “standard” model but may fit the “taco” model of Humphries Or does it simply reflect change in tectonic regime at 40 Ma and opening of an ancient suture?

  2. Why are CTDs found in linear arrays? The linear nature of mineral belts has focused research on large-scale crustal structures and their role in controlling the emplacement of magmas and large-scale fluid flow Are there new or better geophysical techniques that can more clearly define these crustal-scale linear structures? Are there additional unrecognized structures?
