  2. Last lesson we saw that 10,000 deaths were from unexpected causes • We also estimated that 500,000 people die a year. What percentage of these are unexpected? • What do the remaining 98% of people die from? • Do you think most of these “unexpected” deaths happen to people your age? • What information do we need to help us decide?

  3. When is the biggest risk of dying before the age of 40? Can you explain why? Who are at the biggest risk of death, men or women?

  4. What is this graph showing? Can you explain why it looks like this?

  5. Look at the table… • How many men aged between 60 and 79 died in an accident? (1,235) • What is this figure to the nearest hundred? (1,200) • How many males are there in England and Wales aged between 1 and 19? (6,390,600) • What is this figure to the nearest hundred thousand? (6,400,000 or 6.4 million)
