Our Community is dedicated to providing an enriching experience that strives for athletic excellence, supports youth rowing and inspires a life long passion for the sport.

  8. Policy: USRA Youth Nationals Only Varsity competitors Entries vary each year depending on which boats qualify at NY States Championships. Regatta in Sacramento, CA: June 13-15, 2014 Details / cost estimates in documents section on the web site

Policy: USRA Youth Nationals Pittsford Crew will provide: Boats (boat rental), insurance, some supplies, and organizational assistance Families must divide the cost of: coaches’ travel/accommodations/food, regatta food/supplies Families also incur their own costs of travel, accommodations and meals. Details / cost estimates in documents section on the web site

Parent’s Commitment Parents are critical to the operation of Pittsford Crew!!! • Responsibility of Parents • Each family is expected to take on 3 volunteer jobs per enrolled athlete. • Support during fundraising efforts • Over 400+ Volunteer opportunities to fill this Spring • 220 for Pittsford Regatta • Thank you for your hours of volunteering that allow Pittsford Crew to operate.   18. Fundraising “Crew for the Kids” Ergathon Sunday, May 3rd, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM at Eastview Mall • Row one hour on event day • $100 minimum contribution per family, reimbursed if the family raises $100 or more FUN!!! PRIZES!!!

  19. 2014 Ergathon • A trifold paper brochure will be available to send or give to potential donors. • New this year: • Pittsford Crew’s fundraising through “Piggybackr”! • The P Crew Power Relay Race

  20. 2014 Ergathon • “Piggybackr” is a website for club and sports fundraising. • Easy instructions will be given for each athlete to: • establish an individual webpage on the P Crew site • send email donation requests with the website link • donations may be made by credit card or check • donations will be credited to the sponsored athlete

  21. 2014 Ergathon • If 80% of Pittsford Crew’s athletes participate in fundraising*, we will provide up to $1000 for the purchase of a facility item of their choice**. * participation will be defined by the athletes developing an individual webpage and sending at least 10 donation requests ** the squad with the highest participation rate will choose the facility item from a wish list that they develop.

  22. Fundraising Corporate sponsorship program: Logo on website, regatta banners, and on regatta programs. Gold level $500 (one year), Silver level $250 (one season). Information folders available tonight, also a tab on the website. Contact Ken Plotkin with any questions.

Financial Review • Tuition covers 10 weeks of training, regattas, and hospitality for athletes. • Full use of one of the best rowing facilities in the U.S. – Indoor Rowing Center is a world-class facility. • Professional coaching • Excellent equipment * Travel and accommodations for NYS Championships are paid separately.

  26. 2014 Equipment Purchases (from Fundraising) Focus on infrastructure – Docks (short dock in 2014) One new safety launch + motor Saving for long dock ALL equipment comes from fundraising! PLEASE have your athlete participate in the spring ergathon!

Spring Practice Schedule • Follow winter schedule for first few weeks • Look at: Schedules tab on website for weekly schedule • Check call in line: 234-7463 • After we transition to the water • Girls practice 3:30 PM – 5:45 PM • Boys practice 5:30 PM – 7:45 PM • Please arrive ready to practice! • No practice April 14-18

Spring 2014 Regatta Schedule • Ithaca Icebreaker, Sun, April 27 • State Championships, Saratoga, Sat/Sun, May 10-11 • Novice return home Saturday night, May 10 • Syracuse Chargers, Sat, May 17 • MHS & SHS Junior/Senior Prom • Pittsford Regatta, May 24-25 (Memorial Day Weekend) • End of Year Picnic – June 1 • If qualified: Youth Nationals June 13-15 Check emails and the Website for updates!

Regatta Transportation • For local regattas, parents provide their athletes’ transportation • Driving directions will be on the website • All rowers are expected to be at the regatta all day to help unload/reload trailer • Rowers should not drive themselves beyond Monroe County regatta sites • For NY States, buses will take the athletes to/from Saratoga, and from the hotel to the race site.
