  2. Why is self management important to college readiness? Self management is a key factor in college readiness. As well as self-monitoring, self-awareness, and self-control. You have to be able to manage yourself with time now so that way, while you are in college you already know how to work around your schedule in order to complete your work for all of your classes .

  3. What is self- monitoring? Metacognition, self-monitoring, is just the ability to think how others are thinking. This can become very useful now and while you’re in college. If you have metacognition, you can get ahead of everyone else because you can think like them or maybe even better.

  4. What is self – awareness and how can it help me? Being aware of yourself and your limits is very important for getting your work done. You can push and push but if you over work yourself you can become stressed. If you are aware of your limits, even if you are pushing yourself, you won’t be pushed over your limit.

  5. How is self – control relevant to college readiness? • Controlling yourself is the last key of academic behavior. You have to be able to control yourself in various situations. Whether it’s working in a group or resolving issues with a professor. If you loose your grip on controlling yourself, you might regret it later. Especially if you have anger issues and problems with avoiding conflict.

  6. Academic Behavior Coaching • All - 80 to 90% of students Meet Performance Indicators All staff Preventative and Proactive • Some – 5 to 10% of students Require Supplemental Targeted Intervention • Few – 1 to 8% of students Require Intensive Intervention

  7. How Not To Be College Ready • By Not Studying • Not Listening in class • Not taking notes • Not doing your homework You don’t want to be that person!
