  2. All of this goes in this one pack so that you are ready for either a debridement or amputation

  3. Its better to have more than less 4x8" gauze (40 - 50 here)

  4. Place sterile indication tape or other indicators throughout the pack

  10. Label date packed and contents (i.e. surg, dental etc.) on the sterile indication tape

  11. Add about ¾ - 1" or about 1500mL clean H2O

  12. Water goes directly into the main pot

  13. Place inner pot and insert into the main pot

  14. Place your pack into the inner pot sideways so that the basin doesn’t catch steam

  15. Lube the bevel with petroleum jelly where the lid will contact the pot

  16. Just the bevel!

  17. Place lid on the pot ENSURING THAT THE TUBE IN THE BACK GOES IN THE CHANNEL

  18. 2 Hand tighten the lid knobs like you would lug nuts in a star pattern 4 5 6 3 1

  19. Apply heat and leave valve open until steam begins to escape

  20. (Steam) Leave open and Let steam vigorously for 7 minutes

  21. Close and wait for pressure needle to reach the green: 17-20 PSI at about 254-259 degrees f.

  22. Keep in green or above for 35 mins then remove from heat source

  23. CAREFULLY Open valve with a glove and instrument or stick as it will violently vent superheated steam in all directions

  24. You will likely have to pry the lid open with a screwdriver or something

  25. CAREFULLY Remove Sterile pack and leave to cool on end so that steam does not condensate inside basin Pack can be vacuum sealed and bagged before storing in the dry sterilizer or tough box for deployment
