  1. Getting to know the costs of a residential construction It is a known fact that the cost involved in making a house is very large and it may be the biggest investment you make in your entire life. This is due to the high costs of the materials that are needed for the construction of any residential complex. So, when you are determined to build a house of your own or may be add a new part to your existing house, is rest assured that you will have to spend a lot of money. Since the cost of constructing a house is very big you must get hold of a constructor that does not charges a lot of money on labor costs and materials. Most of all the construction company must be honest.

  2. Get the know the total cost of construction by yourself It is inhuman to know all the factors and the all the cost that you might have to pay to build a house but at the same time you must have an idea of what the approximate costs should be. There are many websites that will give you an estimate of the total cost of the construction depending on the design of the house you want. Normally, the residential construction cost is divided into two parts and they are soft and hard. The hard costs are the costs that involve the materials needed and the costs of the labor. On the other hand the soft costs include architect’s fee, insurance, appraisals among many others. There are also many other factors that determine the total cost of the house. Some of these are heating, quality, material used, cooling, geographic location of the plot, design, features and shape of the house.

  3. The number of corners you want to have for the house This is very important as the estimate of constructing the house depends on the outside perimeter’s shape. A complex shape of the total area will increase the cost of the construction as it will lead to added expenses due to the complicated structure of the floor area. Most of the residential houses have four, six, eight and ten corners while the garage area is the other outline involved in all construction jobs.

  4. The size of your living area Determine the quality of the house you are going to build • It is fairly easy to say that a small house will have less living area compared to a big house and the cost of constructing a small house is also very low when compared to a big house as well. The living area must be measured and then the cost of construction must be made and the estimate must include other surcharges such as lean-tos, annexes and other additions, but the porch, attic and basement must be excluded. • The cost of the house will depend greatly on the quality of the materials used and the quality of the construction. You could choose the best possible materials at a high cost or you could go for the sub standard materials at a much lower costs. Though everyone wants to use the best materials but not everyone can afford it. Though this is an investment where you will most likely to spend your entire life you must use the high quality materials for the roofs, bathrooms, doors and windows, plumbing, floors, kitchen and the walls.
