  5. Problems with 2D Pictures • Very sensitive to light & shadow • Picture had to be straight on • Sensitive to changes in facial expression

  6. 3D facial recognition

  7. Surface Texture Analysis • Measures color and texture of skin • More tolerant to changes in facial expression, hair, and accessories • Improvement of 20-25%

  8. Current & Future Uses • Security • Used at Super Bowl XXXV • Airports • ATM verification (future) • Advertisements
