They contribute to economic growth both directly, through increased productivity, and indirectly, by creating greater capacity to adopt new technologies and ways of working and to spur innovation.” –OECD 2011
  9. For cloud computing, availability of skilled IT workers will be a persistent and pervasive challenge. By 2015, number of IT professionals in cloud-related roles will more than double to 7 million. Cloud-related skills represent virtually all of the IT growth opportunities worldwide through 2015. There is no area of the IT organization that will be unaffected by a transition to cloud computing. More than 40% of new cloud-related jobs will be in emerging markets. There are currently ~1.7m open job requisitions for cloud-related IT positions worldwide. Lack of certification, training or experience are three top reasons why these positions aren’t filled. Certification, training and experience are three of the top four most important characteristics when selecting a candidate for a cloud-related position. (Potential is the most important attribute) While nearly every IT org is seeking cloud-enabling capability, the workforce doesn't appear to be ready.
