NPSS Conference Recruiting-1 • The population of NPSS at the end of December 2011 was 3268, a decrease of 74 members below the same date in 2010. • At the end of February 2012, the population fell abruptly to 2644, a delta of 550 members • 163 of those non-renewing NPSS did, however, renew their IEEE memberships • The reference datum, Aug 2011, was 3017. The “churn”, therefore is 550/3017=18.23% • The ‘Lost’ members included 13 who ‘retired’.
NPSS Conference Recruiting-2NIEEE AND NPSS 78 % of the 2011 NPSS members had renewed their memberships for 2012. The average for the whole of IEEE was 71%. Hopefully this renewal rate will continue in going into the 2013 year. The current NPSS level is 2.8% higher than the same date last year. (see ‘Hockey stick’ chart) IEEE membership is now 400,000
