  1. My MIST(y) Life Or… How My Life Went From Busy but Calm to Crazy, Chaotic but Ultimately Rewarding… Michelle McCarthy Drolet IST 501 – Tech Workshop September 28, 2011 Click to go to last slide…

  2. This is me before I started my MIST degree at CSUMB… See how calm and relaxed I look???

  3. Before MIST, I lived a busy but calm life… • Working full-time at DLI as a Secretary in the Persian-Farsi School • Working part-time at Weight Watchers as a Leader • Wife to an Army Captain • Stepmom to three beautiful children

  4. I’ve done a lot of things in my life like… Lived in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for 5 years when I was growing up… (I speak Portuguese) Sang my heart out as a Lead Singer in a Rolling Stones cover band in college

  5. And… Ran my own dog exercising/pet sitting business for 5 years in Los Angeles Managed a large territory in Texas for Weight Watchers (I lost 68 pounds on the program 8 ½ years ago… YEA ME!!!)

  6. BUT… SOMETHING WAS MISSING…

  7. I wanted something more out of life and the MIST Program could deliver a… • Deeper understanding of Adult Learning Styles and how to adapt training • High level of comfort and extensive knowledge of technical systems for training

  8. So, I embarked on this new journey and added more hours of studying, collaborating, learning and thriving… I may have a few more grey hairs; and less time to exercise, eat right and take care of myself… But there’s always hair dye, plastic surgery and fast food drive-thrus! And when I graduate from the MIST Program – I’ll be poorer but most definitely smarter!

  9. And most importantly, I’ll understand the most important concept of Instructional Design…
