  1. This is Why You Should Pick Magnetic Locks Consisting of an electromagnet and an armature plate, Magnetic locks are locking devices. The devices are of two types and are used on sensitive doors; fail-safe and fail-secure. When power is disconnected the fail- secure devices remain locked while when power is disconnected the fail-safe are unlocked. Attached to the door has an armature plate and the Capitol Magnetic Padlock is normally attached to the door frame. It may surprise you to know that the basic principles of their design and function are all pretty much the same with countless different applications, sizes and styles of padlock available. The majority of padlocks have a solid metal body although the bodies of certain types of padlocks (some combination or disc padlocks, for example) are made from alternative materials. By far the solid padlock body is the strongest part of the padlock and, as a general rule, more substantial and larger the locking mechanism can be the larger the body. Causing an increase in the magnetic flux and by passing a current in the electromagnet Most of the magnetic locks are operated. The flux closes the door and makes the armature plate attract the electromagnet. Even when pressure is applied on it the force created by the magnetic flux keeps the door locked. There must be a constant power supply for the fail-safe magnetic lock to remain locked and work well and hence in places where high security is mandatory it cannot be relied on. To ensure a constant the power supply there must be a battery backup when used in places where high security is a must. In exit doors Magnetic locks are normally used because in the event of an emergency they hardly fail. As compared to other convectional locks the locks cost less and are strong hence they are they are preferred. The locks are operated by a button that closes and opens the door and do not interact with door knobs and levers. As they can be relied on during incidences of fire the locks in offices have found a lot of applications. You can purchase the HPC Emergency Key Box online.

  2. Attracting a conductor with a force large enough to prevent the door from opening some of the magnetic locks have electromagnets. Amplifying the magnetic field produced creating a magnetic force they consists of a solenoid wrapped around a ferromagnetic material. Advantages of magnetic locks •Quick to operate: by switching power on and off the locks are operated hence where authentication is required in a high traffic office they are valuable. •Durability: as compared to other convectional locks the locks are more durable •Sturdy: even when forced to open using a crowbar or when exposed to multiple of blows the locks suffer less damage. •Easy to install: As they do not have interconnecting parts as compared to other convectional locks the locks are easier to install. •Have no moving parts. The locks come with the following disadvantages •A constant supply of power is required. •Especially when compared to mechanical locks they are expensive and if they have to be operated safely some additional hardware must be bought. 2727 Courtice Road, PO Box 98020, Courtice, Ontario, Canada, K0M 1A0 416-936-5804 info@officekeys.ca www.officekeys.ca
