  9. Mississippi River • The Mississippi River is a drainage route to the Gulf of Mexico • Almost all of Tennessee lies within the Mississippi River watershed

  11. Cumberland River • A tributary of the Ohio • 687 miles long • Flows through Nashville

  12. Tennessee River • The largest tributary of the Ohio River • It is 886 miles long • The only river on earth that flows in all cardinal directions • Flows through Knoxville and Chattanooga
