  2. Roma Employability in Glasgow: • GCC committed to giving Roma access to labour market; • All employability for City delivered by Jobs and Business Glasgow (JBG); • JBG delivering Roma employability programmes for 2 years • Activities also delivered by Govanhill Community Development Trust.

  3. Current Provision: • European Social Fund and Scottish Government; • Engaged with almost 500 Roma; • Movement closer to labour market; • Language, literacy and numeracy, IT support, understanding world of work, interview skills.

  4. Roma Matrix Supporting Roma Employment • GCC Senior Management creating programme to employ 4 Roma in Local Authority; • Will be assigned mentor through the process; • Meaningful employment in various areas: education, housing, community work etc.

  5. Roma Matrix Supporting Roma Employment • Working with West of Scotland Regional Equality Council and Business Gateway to support pilot Enterprise programme for Young Roma; • Seconding member of staff into GCC to work on this;

  6. Co-operative Glasgow • Discussions in 2014 on potential development of Roma social enterprises; • Development funding available; • Linking in with enterprise programme;
