  1. Inquiry!!! Remember.. It is how science is done not just doing science.

  2. Your Job Design an inquiry lesson based on newton's laws of motion • Law of inertia • F=MA • Action reaction

  3. Your Objective • Launch an egg into the air to a minimum height of 40 feet. And get it safely to ground without breaking the egg • You may work alone or with one other person

  4. What is Expected • The egg will be raw. • No rockets or hazardous propellants • Explained thoroughly using Newton's 3 laws • A written narrative • Can be as simple or as elaborate as you would like. • Must easily be taken into and out of the school • You may not touch the egg landing…no gloves, mitts

  5. So, for today • Begin your design. • Draw possible designs of your launch/landing device • Work with what you know about Newton’s laws to begin to hypothesize applications to your launch and landing of the egg • More height with a successful landing will give you bonus points. • Begin describing the steps of inquiry as it relates to the experiment

  6. What else… • You will turn in a written report with a • Hypothesis, research question, some research on eggs and egg activities along with an objective, materials, procedures, and a conclusion on why it did or did not work

  7. Have fun. • This activity will be performed one week from today.
